Safety Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop accident prevention and loss control systems and programs for incorporation into the operational policies of the organization.
  • To install and carry out periodical maintenance of fire protection and safety equipment.
  • Ensure Compliance with the legal and other requirements.
  • Train and Instill Safety Culture among all relevant stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant IS Standards of fire fighting and safety equipment, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA (International Standard - Desirable), Oil Industries Safety Directorate (OISD - Essential), and requirements prescribed under the Factories Act and other relevant rules (Essential).
  • Thorough Knowledge of the Factories Act and Tamilnadu Factories Rules and other relevant acts and rules.
  • Knowledge of the entire operations of the plant and safety requirements in each process area.
  • Coordination skills.


Qualifications:

(a) Possesses a recognized degree in Chemical Engineering or Technology and has had practical experience working in a factory in a supervisory capacity for not less than two years.

(b) Possesses a degree or diploma in Industrial Safety; recognized by the State Government on this behalf; and

(c) has adequate knowledge of the Tamil language. (Read/ Write and Speak). - [As per Factories Act]
