Role

As a QA Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact (POC) between the QA teams (SDETs) and clients. You will be responsible for leading, managing, motivating, and mentoring a team of SDET’s. Your role will involve ensuring consistency, driving quality performance, and aligning all programs to deliver an outstanding customer experience.


Key responsibilities -

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, manage, and mentor Testing team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure the team’s success.
  • Motivate and provide direction to build high-performing teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the testing team.
  • Work alongside with key stakeholders like Ops and hiring teams for onboarding, coaching, remediation, training, and development of QAs and QA Leads.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies aligned with project requirements and objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize test execution across various stages (unit, integration, system, acceptance).

Test Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with leads and development teams to create detailed test plans.
  • Understanding frameworks and review code.

Resource Planning & Allocation

  • Efficiently allocate testing resources based on project priorities and timelines.
  • Conduct capacity planning and manage resource allocation to optimize team performance.

Quality Assurance Processes

  • Implement and drive the QA process and structure.
  • Identify potential issues and trends, communicating them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement initiatives and projects to address possible trends and drive business KPIs.
  • Deliver insights for continuous improvement and exceptional customer experience across programs.
  • Define and enhance quality assurance processes ensure the highest level of software quality.
  • Integrate processes with overall project and release management processes.
  • Capable in calculating and reporting of testing effectiveness in terms of speed and quality through different test metrics.

Test Automation

  • Design and develop new automation frameworks in Java,C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Review automation code in any of the above programming languages and suggest improvements.
  • Guide and mentor test automation team on Automation best practices in Web, Mobile, Desktop, and API automation

Continuous improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Implement measures to monitor and improve the effectiveness of the COE testing processes.

Performance Analysis and Improvement

  • Aggregate audit findings and analyze gaps in processes.
  • Identify innovative solutions to solve problems upstream, improve customer experience, and drive higher efficiency.
  • Analyze quality and performance trends to provide recommendations for program improvement.
  • Ensure the delivery of vendor quality metrics at Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

  • Should understand Transitions, which are spread between the Handover, Start-up, Manage, and Exit phases to be able to manage Transaction Quality functions effectively.
  • High level of maturity to handle people including but not limited to clients, stakeholders, peers, etc.
  • Process-oriented, Planning, Decision making, Data Handling, Ability to prioritize, Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented, Strong organizational and Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of quality tools/ structures / Process Mapping / SOP (BPMS) creation etc.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing testing teams and projects.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in software testing, with atleast 2+ years in team lead/manager role.
  • In-depth knowledge of various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience with automation testing and tools and Frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress) and programming languages (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Knowledge of Test management tools and bug reporting tools(e.g. Jira, Test rail, Bugzilla, Test Link etc.)
  • Understanding of console logs and debugging tools e.g. Chrome Devtools and VS Code.
  • Understanding of API testing using POSTMAN, RestAssured, PactJS.
  • Experience git and tools like Github/Bitbucket/Gitlab.
