Domain: Bus Body- Structure / Interior / Exterior


Requirements and Responsibility -

Mandatory Skill Set: Tool Skill Sets: Catia V5, TCUA PLM

-Hands on experience using CATIA V5 Part modelling, Assembly, Surfacing, Sheet metal and detailing modules.

-Release processes through the PLM lifecycle in TCUA


Domain Skill set: Bus Body-Interior, Structure & Paneling

-Benchmarking of competitive vehicles for features

-Concept generation & finalization, design layouts, release activities with other aggregates vehicle packaging

-Design of Bus structure, Exterior trims, sheet metal parts and Interior trims

-Development of sheet metal, structure parts with supplier

-Design of Interior parts, A-Surface Feasibility Check (Dashboard, Engine hood, Pillar Trims)

-Generate B’ surface and mounting features

-Surfacing of Exterior parts and trims (Front & Rear facia, Front Inner, Bumper, wheel arch cladding & Battery pack cover)

-Design of Mechanical Assemblies and Information drawings

-Packaging and concept designing of Interior trims (Flooring, Stanchions, Window, Seats, Roof & side body panels)

-Knowledge of bus body (AIS) design standards (AIS 052, AIS 153 & AIS 140 etc.)

-Knowledge of DFM, DFA, DFS, DFMEA


Material & Manufacturing Process Knowledge

-Knowledge of Plastic manufacturing processes- Injection Moulding, vacuum forming, FRP etc.

-ABS and FRP-based components for bus interior aesthetic components

-Design of Injection moulded & vacuum formed Interior and Exterior parts, Pillar trims, Dashboard, Engine hood, Front and Rear Inner, Front and rear face & bumpers design

Additional preferred Skill set for Cab BIW

-Creating Engineering Concept design, master sections, macro feasibility during styling stage

-CAD modeling and 3D annotations of BIW components and assemblies ensuring timely delivery at every milestone as per Project time plan and the schedule assigned by Project lead

-Work out detail engineering and TPL creation and Release in PLM

-Define validation plan of BIW components and assemblies on component level meeting all requirements of functionality, performance and quality as per client standards

-Understand and implement feedback from all internal agencies within client and external agencies (component suppliers, engineering service provider) for design, engineering, development and launch of vehicle

-POST launch engineering support to resolve all manufacturing, Weight, Quality and Cost reduction activities

-Participate in the Customer initiatives like VAVE, weight reduction and quality improvements and deliver as per given target of cost, quality and weight


Domain Skills/Technical Competency:

-The job requires domain knowledge of BIW Design for Automotive components and assemblies

Sheet Metal Design, modeling, master sections, DMU, interaction with DMU team, PE, APL team for DFM and DFA, interaction with styling

-Knowledge of sheet metal forming and welding assemblies

-CATIA expertise, in solid, surface modeling, assembly modeling, 3D annotations

-Good working Knowledge of regulations and engineering processes like DFMEA, DVP, DFM, DFA and DFS, DVP, etc.

-PLM knowledge and knowledge of Vehicle BOM and Engineering BOM

-Knowledge of BIW regulations, performance testing and validations
