This role will play a pivotal role within the European Generic Formulations commercial team. The role will lead the region's out-licensing activities, including prospecting, partner negotiations, internal deal review and approval, deal contract execution, and post execution commercial support.

This is an entrepreneurial and dynamic role, which will require you to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely deal progress and contract execution, as well as partner and market due diligence.

This role will report directly to the Regional Head for Europe & UK. This role also requires the management and development of 1 direct report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and connect with potential business partners to foster growth opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to secure new business opportunities.
  • Management of existing and new projects in line with the company's business development strategies and expansion plans.
  • Lead preparation and coordination of the deal review meetings and ensure that the cooperation of the BD department with other internal departments is carried out in the most efficient way
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and legal to finalize confidentiality agreements, licensing, supply, and distribution contracts.
  • Manage end-to-end client-side activities for new launches following deal closures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute and implement partnership agreements and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor global and Europe markets for new product developments, product innovations and sectoral developments in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer preferences to inform business strategies.

Experience:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 8 – 12 years' experience in generics out-licensing, preferably in Europe
  • Experience in licensing, alliance management and European regulatory framework is a bonus.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to manage, analyze and present large data sets.
  • Problem-solving skills: Intellectually curious individuals with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas to solve business problems
  • Collaborative skills: They must be able to work with cross-functional teams and have the maturity to interact directly with senior executives across departments, as well as provide leadership to teams on the implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Proficient skills over MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.), familiarity with databases like IMS, Newport etc. shall be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and Presentation skills.
  • MBA / PGDM from a leading business school.
  • Knowledge of Germany, Italian, Spanish shall be an advantage
