Indo-Western collections for bridal and occasional wear, blending modern aesthetics with our

brand's rich heritage. We seek a passionate and experienced Apparel Head to lead this exciting new

venture.

Job Summary:

The Apparel Head will be responsible for the end-to-end development and execution of our Indo-

Western apparel line, focusing on bridal and occasional wear. This role requires a creative visionary

with a strong understanding of garment construction, fabric sourcing, and production management.

The ideal candidate will be able to translate current fashion trends into unique designs that align

with Dakshinam Sarees' brand ethos and style, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Design:


• Research and analyze current fashion trends, particularly in bridal and occasional Indo-

Western wear.


• Develop innovative and commercially viable design concepts that reflect Dakshinam Sarees'

brand identity.


• Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards to communicate design ideas

and liase with master to validate and finalize pattern.

Garment Construction and Creation:


• Possess expert knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and draping techniques.


• Oversee the creation of sample garments, ensuring accurate execution and high-quality

finish.


• Provide technical guidance and support to tailors and production partners.

Fabric Sourcing and Costing:


• Source high-quality fabrics and embellishments from reliable suppliers.


• Negotiate prices and manage fabric inventory.


• Develop accurate cost estimates for each garment, ensuring profitability.

Production Management:


• Establish and manage a network of skilled tailors, production units, and other relevant

partners.


• Oversee the production process, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.


• Implement efficient production workflows and processes.

Trend Analysis and Forecasting:


• Stay abreast of emerging fashion trends, colours, and styles.


• Conduct market research to identify customer preferences and demands.


• Forecast future trends and incorporate them into design development.

Brand Alignment:


• Ensure all designs adhere to Dakshinam Sarees' brand style and aesthetic.


• Maintain consistency in quality and craftsmanship across all products.


• Work with the marketing team to ensure that the new clothing lines are presented in a way

that is consistent with the brand image.

Team Collaboration:


• Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and merchandising, to

ensure seamless product launches.


• Effectively communicate and manage relationships with all production partners.

Qualifications and Skills:


• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.


• Proven experience in apparel design and development, preferably in bridal or occasional

wear.


• Expert knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and draping.


• Strong understanding of fabric sourcing, costing, and production management.


• Excellent design and sketching skills.


• Ability to translate trends into commercially viable designs.


• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).


• Experience building and managing production teams.


• A strong understanding of the Indian ethnic wear market.
