As our India-based Senior Payroll Partner, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our employees are accurately and efficiently paid, while also ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. In this exciting role, you will work closely with Senior Global Payroll Manager, our finance, and HR teams to manage the payroll process end-to-end and will also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.

A deep understanding of operational risk & experience in identifying and implementing controls to mitigate such risk is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the execution of internal controls that assure Tekion India Payroll’s ongoing compliance in an increasingly complex statutory and regulatory landscape across Payroll, Policy, Tax, Finance and HR Team. 
  • Manage employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
  • Manage the calculations for the CTC salary breakdown for new hires, compensation changes/promotions, inter conversion and provide this information to payroll vendor before the payroll cut off.
  • Audit the payroll input to ensure that all payroll calculations and changes are updated in Dayforce before the integration file is sent to the payroll vendor for processing.
  • Manage the manual payroll input via uploads or quick entry for various compensations such as: referral and sign on bonus, cab deductions, meal coupons, etc.
  • Calculate and process employee benefits, such as PF, ESI, and taxes.
  • Provide tax calculations to employees who exercise stocks throughout the year. Maintain clean records and submit the information to the payroll vendor on a quarterly basis for reporting.
  • Work closely with the People Operations team and the payroll vendor to ensure that investment declaration forms and tax regime are provided to the vendor.
  • Perform a full audit to ensure that Net pays and other tax deductions and allowances are applied correctly.
  • Provide the final payroll file to the Finance department monthly. Assist with verifying the bank accounts in Dayforce to ensure that salary credits are processed correctly by the Finance department.
  • Liaise with external vendors, such as payroll service providers, tax consultants, and auditors.
  • Perform Year end reconciliations and address any discrepancies ie: Form 16 part A and B, incorrect PRAN number to the payroll vendor before the yearend deadline.
  • Conduct payroll-related reconciliations and audits monthly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Generate payroll reports and perform other payroll-related duties as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in payroll processing in India
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in India, including PF, ESI, gratuity, and taxes
  • Experience with payroll processing software and updating SOP’s.
  • Strong attention to detail and very strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce, Workday payroll or other payroll platforms.
  • ESOP tax calculations and Year end reporting: Form 16.
