The Director, Software Engineering (Technical Engineering/Delivery Leader) will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex software engineering projects from inception to completion. You will lead teams of skilled professionals, ensuring that projects meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and within budget. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, effective stakeholder management, and the application of best practices in project management and software development.

The Technical Engineering/Delivery Leader will work closely with the development, architecture, and application teams to integrate and align the requirements, specifications, and constraints of each software component. They will also need to help identify gaps in resources, technology, or capabilities required and work with Program Leadership to identify and implement solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Define and execute the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for software solutions, aligning it with overall business objectives and enterprise standardsLead and manage the end-to-end delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budgetLead technical discussions with development teamsDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk management strategiesCoordinate with product managers, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of project objectivesServe as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and addressing any issues or concernsEnsure the quality of deliverables through rigorous testing and adherence to industry standardsFoster an agile, collaborative, and performance-driven team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and innovationIdentify and resolve technical and project-related roadblocks, working proactively to mitigate risksManage the project budget, including tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effectivenessImplement best practices in technical project management, keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologiesPeople manager of software engineering delivery teamsMentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional growthComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldExperience with modern software development practices, such as CI/CD, DevOps, and version control systems (e.g., Git)Proven experience in software engineering project management or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful project deliveryExperience in managing budgets and project financesExpertise in software development methodologies, including Agile and ScrumProven excellent understanding of software architecture and design principlesSolid knowledge of programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, .NET)Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Trello)Proven excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of software engineering professionalsExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAnalytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services
Experience with database systems and SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Solution architecture experience
Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Spring Boot)Familiarity with software security best practices and protocolsUnderstanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts
