Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated individual tojoin us as a Commis Chef. You will be reporting to the Demi Chef dePartie and assisting the team with various food preparations. Youshould be able to gather ingredients and measure them correctlybefore every food preparation. Also you should be able to assistwith mise preparation and chopping & seasoning of vegetables.

Your job responsibilities will also includetaking a stock of the inventory Moreover you should be able toorganize and label food items correctly. As a Commis Chef youshould adhere to the industry standards and follow excellenthygiene practices at all times.

To be able toperform in this job role you should be familiar with various foodpreparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Furthermore youshould be able to work at flexible shifts and have a detailorientedapproach. A candidate possessing excellent communication andlistening skills will be preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting and taking instructionsfrom the Demi Chef de Partie
  • Gathering andaccurately measuring all food ingredients
  • Washing peeling and chopping vegetables andfruits
  • Cutting and seasoning different meats
  • Preparing basic dishes such as salads andsauces
  • Keeping a track of the inventorysupplies
  • Ensuring that the food items arestocked properly in refrigerators and freezers
  • Maintaining proper hygiene standards andensuring that the workstation remains clean at all times
  • Plating various menu items
  • Accepting deliveries of food items andmaintaining a stock record of the same
  • Disposing spoiled food items and expiredproducts
Requirements
  • Diploma or a Bachelors degree inF&B Production
  • Proven work experience as aCommis Chef Chef Prep Cook or a similar role in the Hospitalityindustry
  • Complete knowledge of the industrysbest practices hygiene and safety standards
  • Familiarity with various food preparationtechniques and kitchen equipment
  • Excellenthygiene standards
  • Good time management andorganizational skills
  • Strong communication andlistening skills
  • Ability to multitask andprioritize tasks
  • Ability to work at flexiblehours and on weekends
  • A team player as well asable to work independently
  • Having an eye fordetail
  • Ability to offer excellent guestservice
