We are looking for Software Development Managers who are seeking opportunities to apply their past experience supporting to build scalable and robust software solutions that deliver a great customer experience. We aim to create a highly technical and entrepreneurial culture and you will help us foster that.
These software solutions will directly impact Amazon’s customers from product selection and order placement, to delivering products to our customers as quickly and cost effectively as possible.

Key job responsibilities
- As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team of talented SDEs and be responsible for delivering world class scalable services. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
- The ideal candidate is clearly passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrated track record of success in delivering new features and products through high-performing teams. A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.

About the team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- 5+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
