About the role:
As a Manager of Curation, APAC; you’ll be the driving force behind our experience across key screens in APAC (India & SEA) driving our curation strategy to resonate with the distinct and passionate anime communities in these regions. Reporting to the Director of Curation, you will provide strategic insight and regional knowledge to enhance our curation and surrounding initiatives - working closely with in-region marketing, business units, and technical teams to elevate the Crunchyroll brand and deliver a best-in-class experience for our users.
Success will require a highly efficient, self-motivated individual, with robust experience working alongside analytics to intelligently evaluate data - and making decisions based on those insights. Solid editorial judgment is also vital - developed through experience working with video content services - alongside being an avid consumer of pop culture and anime. Ideal candidates are analytical, innovative, and creative problem solvers, with strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills - critical to working successfully across multiple time-zones and cross-functionally with other departments in different parts of the world; including Programming, Metadata, Engineering, Product and Content Operations.This role will contribute to our overall strategy in the region—including the development of new concepts in curation, product features and tooling enhancements. A strong understanding of the content ecosystem across APAC is vital to your success when providing fans with the optimal experience. This role will be based in Mumbai and report to the Director of Curation.Responsibilities:
Develop curation strategies across the APAC region, aligning with Crunchyroll's global goals and regional marketing targets Execute repeatable, scalable curation strategies that excite and engage users, working with cross-functional teams to align APAC curation strategy with global initiatives and seasonal anime releasesPartner with analytics to measure and evaluate curation strategies in APACPartner with Product to A/B test and optimize key screen layout and strategy Collaborate with APAC regional teams in creating curation strategies and campaigns informed by regional trends and insightsExperience:
5+ years of content merchandising/curation experience with a video service and/or involvement in the media and entertainment industryInsight into the current and future direction of content/trends in-region and knowledge of the regional streaming landscapeThe ability to make data-driven decisions that have actionable results on curation strategies, with a good understanding of a/b testing, personalisation and content discoveryClear grasp of visual language and content (video) merchandising strategiesExperience working closely with cross functional teams - fostering collaboration across markets and creating an experience which feels bespoke per region but unified by brandExcellent understanding of video streaming business models, streaming platforms and content consumption formats.In-depth experience working with and providing constructive and actionable feedback on content publishing tools (CMS) Agile approach to work - thriving in a fast-paced environment, approaching challenges with an organized, adaptable, and positive attitude- juggling multiple time-sensitive projects and priorities simultaneouslySelf-directed worker able to confidently accomplish tasks without on-site manager - who is unafraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in the weeds as/when neededWillingness to work mornings (early), evenings (late) and weekends as neededRobust understanding of analytics and data management/project toolsRequirements:
Native / Bilingual Proficiency in Hindi and English (verbal and written)Nice to Have
