We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  HR Payroll and Tax Specialist (United States of America)

Principal Responsibilities

Stay on top of all regulatory and compliance requirements including and not limited to Federal, State, Unemployment and Local Tax, overseeing the various releases and service packs. Act as liaison between company and payroll vendor tax services.  Research tax laws and provide guidance to help set tax policies to ensure compliance.  Advise stakeholders on best practices and emerging issues related to tax. Assist with gathering and analyzing data for unemployment tax audits, proposed legislation, and transaction by company legal entity. Serves as subject expert concerning related policies in payroll and human resources information processing to include federal, state, and local payroll tax and garnishment, as well as system testing. Support for problem resolution for employees and business partners. Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies. Requirements Minimum three to five years proven payroll tax, payroll generalist experience or equivalent experience. Working knowledge and experience in payroll areas (, United States of America payroll, international payroll, tax, and employee equity). Bachelor’s degree in one of the related fields or equivalent experience (, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields).Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) a plus. Ability to work well independently in a high-volume environment and good time management skills. Strong analytical, attention to detail, customer service, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient in Excel (, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas). SAP – Employee Central Payroll experience preferred. Good communication skills in spoken and written English Strong customer orientations. A high standard of interpersonal sensitivity, communication, and judgment skills.
