External Communications Lead

Overview:

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) is the largest research and development centre for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Established in 6, MBRDI plays a prominent role in the development of new technologies like connected, autonomous, and electric in the world of mobility. With offices in Bengaluru and Pune, MBRDI currently employs over 8, professionals engaged in digital product development, interior component design, IT engineering and services. Building the external brand positioning through effective communications campaigns across earned, owned and social media to our external stakeholders is the primary responsibility of the external communications lead, working closely with stakeholders across the organization, agency teams and within the Communications team. We are looking for an external communications lead who can create and execute effective communication strategies that promote our brand, products, and services to our external stakeholders, such as customers, media, investors, partners, and regulators. You will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering engaging and informative content to our external audiences across various channels, such as press releases, blogs, social media, newsletters, webinars, podcasts, and events. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, such as senior business leaders, engineering, researchers, IT, and marketing, to ensure consistent and timely communication of key messages and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

· You will manage the positive reputation efforts of the company and help position the company externally through PR and social media campaigns as well as owned content platforms.

· You will work with PR and social media agency teams to create and execute an integrated communication plan with measurable results that supports our mission, values and strategic priorities.

· You will write, edit, and produce clear, concise, and compelling content for external audiences and platforms, for a range of formats including announcements, articles, presentations, videos, podcasts, infographics and more.

· You will manage and keep updated the company website, social media handles and other external communication channels.

· Working closely with senior leaders and company spokespersons, you will advise and develop to ensure their external messaging including social media activity is relevant and

· You will partner with senior leaders, spokespersons and subject matter experts to craft storylines and articulate them for events, speakership opportunities, media interviews, thought leadership articles and multi-format content assets.

· You will liaise with media and handle requests for interviews and statements, and maintain positive relationships with journalists, influencers, and other stakeholders.

· You will devise creative campaigns to promote the company as a great place to work and demonstrate its unique capabilities in front of the right stakeholders.

· You will manage budgets pertaining to communication efforts and monitor effective utilisation of resources to ensure best results.

· You will measure and present results of communication efforts and actively showcase the impact of external communications to senior leadership teams.

Qualifikationen

Qualifications:

· Seasoned Communications professional with 8+ years of PR and digital media experience as well as great inter-personal and diplomacy skills.

· Strong background and passion for tech with innovative communication ideas. Excellent understanding of consumer and B2B tech as well as strong tech media relations are prerequisites. Proven track record of running successful corporate social media campaigns.

· Exceptional spoken and written communications skills in English with strong inter-personal and diplomacy skills.

· Bachelor’s degree with specialisation in journalism or public relations is preferred.

· Self-starter, results-oriented, ability to think on the feet in a high-visibility, multi-tasking environment.
