Why this job matters
You will be responsible for:
• Managing the development of new standardised reporting templates and dashboards in SAC and AfO that support strategic decision making
• Managing stakeholder requirements and ensuring that the development of our new reporting templates and dashboards meets those requirements and delivers best in class reporting
• Ensuring the production of training material and evangelising the use of SAP in line with BT Finance Strategic objectives
You are:
• An experienced manager of SAC reporting development in a large organisation, with a strong track record of delivering efficient and effective reporting templates and dashboards
• A commercially astute SAP advocate, knowledgeable about the SAP ERP and reporting roadmap, comfortable working with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into best in class SAC reporting templates and dashboards
• A technical specialist, who leverages their skills and experience to design and deliver SAP reporting capabilities that positively transform information delivery
What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities
• Developing standardised financial reporting templates and dashboards in SAC & AfO that improve the level of reporting capability in BT Finance
• Being a vocal advocate for SAP reporting capability development and the value-add that can be achieved from an efficient and effective system-based SAP reporting approach
• Implementing best in class development practises to deliver flexible and versatile reporting solutions
• Managing reporting development projects, and providing updates on progress, risks and issue resolution
• Working closely with Group and Unit Finance teams to ensure development of appropriate reporting templates and dashboards that meet reporting capability requirements
• Working closely with the BT Digital function to ensure appropriate support for new reporting template and dashboard development projects (e.g. managing requirements into Technology for changes in the underlying S/4 (Group Consolidation), CFIN or BW and PaPM data structures)
• Effectively managing stakeholder relationships across Finance and Technology to deliver SAP reporting development project initiatives
• Establishing robust checking and validation processes for reporting capability development
• Maintaining sufficient understanding of current performance trends across BT in order to ensure reporting capability developments support key commercial challenges
• Supporting the evolution of SAP reporting capability across Finance through knowledge sharing and participation in super-user forums and communities
The skills and experience you need
• Essentials:
- Experience of Finance calendar, close activities, and Finance system transformation.
- Expert understanding of SAP reporting development best practice, particularly in SAC and AfO.
- Functional knowledge of the SAP platform and plug-ins to inform optimal report development (e.g. S/4 HANA, SAC, BW, PaPM)
- Experience of Financial reporting processes (e.g. month end) and delivery of report outputs to support them.
- Brilliant stakeholder management & engagement skills
- High standard of reporting development, documentation and presentation skills.
• Business analysis and consulting - You strategically nurture relationships with key decision makers by helping them navigate critical business changes and address complex issues in their businesses. You bring technical leadership on best practise approaches to SAP reporting development to guide discussions and explore potential solutions.
• Financial analysis and insights - You own relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and use them to identify and understand new and upcoming financial reporting requirements. You bring expert technical guidance on SAP report development to provide maximum insight to support decision making.
• Management reporting - You champion SAP reporting best practices, simplification and rationalisation. You make sure that our reporting development supports and informs the operational needs of our business and links to our strategy.
• Be agile - You manage and implement improvements to the work environment and ways of working. You implement collaborative working practices and continuous improvement.
