Product Marketing Manager, P&C Solutions

Summary of the Job Purpose: 

As a product marketing manager, you are responsible for making Swiss Re P&C products & solutions “fly-off the shelf.” 

This role is not about doing demos or presenting product features (although these may sometimes occur). Rather, this role is the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing and to achieve results. You will be the product evangelist and will play an integral role in organizing product launches. 

You know our competitors like the back of your hand: what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You also know our buyers better than they know themselves, including how they make their buying decisions. This isn’t guesswork. You back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales teams to be successful. 

You will collaborate with our global and regional marketing teams to develop innovative programs that drive demand. An attention to detail and eye for quality are critical to your success, along with an ability to grasp and present our product’s value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers’ problems. You are obsessed with tracking performance and have the data to prove what’s working and what isn’t. 

You will be part of the Solutions Product Marketing support team, a growing team responsible for P&C Solutions positioning, messaging and integrated go-to-market. We play a unique role across products in developing the integrated story to communicate Swiss Re's value to customers. You will develop and implement strategies that bring our messaging to life for our executive customers and prospects, with the goal of driving incremental growth. 

You will conceptualize and strategize on multichannel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring a steady flow of leads and opportunities for the sales/account teams across all channels. You will identify effectiveness and impact of marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly. 

This role is highly cross-functional, with a focus on both strategy and execution. In addition to the marketing team, you will regularly collaborate with marketing communications, product / solution managers and sales; it’s a balancing act that requires strong diplomatic skills, including knowing when to push back and when to dive in. 

Key Responsibilities 

Develop product positioning and messaging informed by customer research, market insights, and product understanding that articulates the unique value of our products. 

Work with cross-functional teams to design and execute product launches, feature updates, and partnership integrations. 

Develop marketing plans for the products you support in conjunction with global and regional marketing teams, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers. 

Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes. 

Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and customers; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it. 

Partner with global and regional marcomms and marketing teams to design, test, and evolve lead-nurturing tactics 

Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration 

Advocate for our existing and prospective customers, be informed about our competitive landscape, and become the go-to expert for your product area to help shape the product roadmap and strategy. 

Own development of key sales tools (presentations, case studies, web content) and collaborate with enablement and sales leaders to bring solutions narratives into the selling and renewal process. 

Build client org charts, target lists for ABM campaigns, with quarterly objectives for each, relative to renewals, upsells, and cross-sells.

Customer obsessed. You have extensive experience in working with regional and global customers and understand how to best position products and solutions 

Organized. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various work streams on track 

Passionate about technology. You are keen to learn about how things work and are able to explain technical concepts in ways that everyday people can understand 

Ambitious. You are eager to make an impact at Swiss Re. You thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic, hyper-growth environment and are able to operate fluidly between the 30,000-foot strategy level and the micro-detail to get things right 

A team player. Product Marketers collaborate across the various teams and with basically every team at Swiss RE. You are able to work with a range of disciplines to execute on your work 

Basic Qualifications 

6-8 years product marketing, demand generation, ABM, go-to-market or field marketing experience in Insurance technology 

Familiar with marketing automation tools such as Microsoft dynamics, SEISMIC, and Google Analytics. 

Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working 

Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player 

Knowledge of all phases of the product lifecycle process including research/analysis, product definition, product development, launch, product performance. 

Excellent communicator both verbally and written, with an ability to communicate with all levels in the organization—technical, business, creative, and executive 

Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred.
