Overview:TheBayfront Medical Building complex is located south of the new UCSFWayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision (WGVCV) and runs alongIllinois Mariposa and Third streets. The Bayfront Medical Buildingis critical to support UCSF Health operations and to serve agrowing patient demand including an increasing demand foroutpatient surgery.
Must haveflexibility in scheduling ability to rotate to other UCSF sites andwork shifts (8 10 or 12 hour) also cove for weekends and holidaysand oncall shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient andwork at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts perdepartmentneeds.
Requirements:
  • Graduateof a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approvedschool
  • Must have flexibility in schedulingability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays andoncall shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient andwork at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts perdepartment needs.
  • Requires ARDMS credentials inAbdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
  • BLSBasic Life Support.
  • Requires (25) years UCSFexperience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and or equivalentexperience in a similar Ultrasound department at UCSF. OR New hireswho meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials heldmust also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the SeniorDiagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at thediscretion of the Section Chief and SectionSupervisor.
  • Maintain ARDMS credential(s)according to the American Registry of Diagnostic MedicalSonographyscriteria


Responsibilities:Performdiagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology forinterpretation:
  • Obtain appropriatepatient clinical information from requesting physician and/orservice prior to performing exam.
  • Preparepatient for imaging.
  • Prepare room and equipmentprior to imaging and after completion ofexam.
  • Demonstrate appropriate selfcritique ofexams to include ability to recognize suboptimal techniques andequipment malfunctions.
  • Meet physicalrequirements to perform all aspects of diagnostic sonographystudies in the inpatient as well as outpatient settings includingbut not limited to: performing portable exams transferring andtransporting gurney and wheelchair
  • MaintainRDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of DiagnosticMedical Sonographyscriteria.
These positionsmust be flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Centerlocations and variable shifts per departmentneeds.
