It is afamily of 121000 colleagues and nearly 36500 physicians andclinicians caring for diverse communities across 27 states.Nationally recognized for care and experienceincludes 101 hospitals126 continuing care locations the second largest PACE program inthe country 136 urgent care locations and many other health andwellbeing services.POSITION PURPOSEProvidesPlanned Maintenance (PM) safety testing repairs calibrationinstallation routine and emergency service to general and variousspecialized diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment asassigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE)Manager.ESSENTIALFUNCTIONSPerforms PM procedures on multipletypes of general and specialized clinicalequipment.Performs PM procedures usingmanufacturer s recommendations standards or code requirements aswell as industry acceptable processes asguidelines.Performs corrective maintenanceprocedures including diagnosing problems using thermodynamicelectronic/electrical mechanical pneumatic hydraulic and/or othersciences and documents results of activities performed to complywith all regulatory and standardrequirements.Notifies equipment users CEManagers and Regional Director of repair status and delays asnecessary.Interacts with clinical staff tounderstand and resolve operational problems in scheduling andcompleting PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospitaldepartments.Determines need for replacementparts and supplies selects the most cost effective source andsubmits properly completed parts request using established policiesand guidelines.Completes corrective andplanned maintenance work order documentation perpolicy.Promotes teamwork by keeping othersinformed participating effectively in group decision making worksto accomplish team objectives and projects and solicits feedbackabout one s effectiveness as a teammember.Continually improves processes byseeking ways to eliminate and reducewaste.Has authority (based on departmentguidelines) to order parts and supplies required for emergencyservice or repair of medical equipment. Recommends test equipmentand spare equipment parts to the CE Manager or LeadTechnician.Provides oncall service coverageafter normal business hours on a rotating basis asassigned.Provides assistance and training toBioMedical Equipment Technician I as assigned by ClinicalEngineering Management.May be assignedduties as Lead BioMedical Equipment Technician asneeded.Performs other duties as assigned orrequested by the CEManager.
