DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).

The impact you will have in this role:

The Lead Capacity Planning Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting network capacity globally for DTCC. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with other team members to identify upcoming capacity risks in network components; convey those risks to appropriate support teams; and to analyze specific components sensitive to increases in business workload. This is done through a robust set of tools collecting system, performance, and volume metrics for analysis within capacity / forecasting / risk reports. Establishing strong collaborative relationships with business and technology owners to review capacity status, capacity trending, and technology projects is central to success.

What You'll Do

Analyze capacity data and evaluate against approved thresholds toIdentify hotspotsProactively notify services owners of any potential issuesRepresent Capacity Planning team when collaborating with Network Engineering, Customer Service, and Relationship Management teams.Lead projects, when requiredCreate/maintain network forecasting models: daily/weekly/monthly reportsReview capacity request increases against projected workload expansion/ growthReview current and forecast network capacity assessmentsEnsure these meet the needs for both Service and Business Product Owners.Produce presentation materials showing analysis and recommendationsProactively engage with infrastructure and development SMEs to understand of major systems initiatives and their impact on capacity requirementsManage an inventory of capacity-related incidents problems through the ticket lifecycleRaise tickets for deficiencies in network devices and/or the monitoring toolsEnsure these have been opened to the relevant Network Subject Matter ExpertsTrack that these are addressed in a timely mannerDocument existing processes and procedures and recommend enhancementsMitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years of related experienceBachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience

Talents Needed For Success:

Minimum of 6 years' experience in capacity and performance analysis of networksExpert level proficiency with Microsoft Excel (statistical functions, complex pivots); intermediate proficiency with other MS Office applicationsExperience with SharePoint programming and customizationExperience with Network design and implementationExperience with Network capacity planning toolsNetFlow (Riverbed profiler preferred)SNMP Reporting SAS Analytics reporting softwareExperience with diverse network technologies and platforms, such as:OSI Model and Network topologiesLayer 1, Layer 2 technologies - DWDM, Optical OC-192, MPLS, HDLCCisco Switching - Ether-Channel, Trucking, STPRouting protocols EIGRP, BGP, OSPFFirewall security and proxy traffic shaping
