DescriptionThe Assistant Manager position in our Freight Forwarding department will play a pivotal role in driving our logistics operations forward. Based in Mumbai City, Maharashtra, this role requires a highly motivated individual with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the logistics industry. The successful candidate will work closely with our sales and operations teams to enhance our capabilities in freight forwarding and optimize our customer service approach. The Assistant Manager will facilitate coordination with shipping lines, manage documentation processes, and utilize data analysis to support decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all operations related to freight forwarding and logistics.
  • Manage sea export forwarding operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods to international destinations.
  • Coordinate effectively with Custom House Agents and shipping lines for smooth export processing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Prepare and review export documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and process various documents such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin for exports.
  • Monitor shipment status, resolve issues, and maintain accurate records throughout the supply chain.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to assist in improving service efficiency and sales performance.
  • Lead a team of professionals to achieve departmental goals and targets.
  • Implement best practices in ocean freight management to optimize costs and service delivery.


Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the transport and logistics industry, specifically in freight forwarding.
  • Educational qualification in any field; professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of export documentation and customs regulations.
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients and partners.
  • Ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
