OverviewThe Head ofManufacturing Engineering for Aerospace Industry plays a criticalrole in overseeing and improving the manufacturing processes withinthe aerospace industry. This position is responsible for leading ateam of engineers to ensure the efficient and effective productionof aerospace components and systems.KeyResponsibilities
  • Lead and manage themanufacturing engineering team providing guidance and technicalexpertise.
  • Develop and implement strategies tooptimize manufacturing processes and enhanceproductivity.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctionalteams to ensure alignment between engineering production andquality assurance.
  • Identify and introduceadvanced manufacturing technologies to improve efficiency andreduce production costs.
  • Provide technicalsupport and guidance for complex manufacturing challenges andprocess improvements.
  • Oversee the design andimplementation of manufacturing tooling andequipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industryregulations and safety standards.
  • Managebudgets and cost control measures for manufacturing engineeringprojects.
  • Participate in the development andreview of aerospace manufacturing plans andschedules.
  • Conduct performance evaluations andprovide mentorship to engineering staff.
  • Drivecontinuous improvement initiatives through the application of leanmanufacturing principles.
  • Participate in theselection and qualification of suppliers for manufacturingprocesses.
  • Stay updated on industry trends andbest practices in aerospace manufacturingengineering.
  • Prepare and present reports onmanufacturing engineering activities to seniormanagement.
  • Coordinate with R&D teamsto transfer new products intoproduction.
RequiredQualifications
  • Bachelors degree inEngineering or a related field; Masters degreepreferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience inmanufacturing engineering with at least 3 years in a leadershiprole within the aerospaceindustry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in aerospacemanufacturing processes including machining assembly composites andadditive manufacturing.
  • Proven track record ofmanaging and leading multifunctional engineeringteams.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standardsand regulations such as AS9100 andNADCAP.
  • Experience in implementing leanmanufacturing and continuous improvementmethodologies.
  • Proficiency in using CAD/CAMsoftware and other manufacturingtools.
  • Excellent problemsolving anddecisionmaking skills in a fastpaced manufacturingenvironment.
  • Ability to communicate effectivelyand build collaborative relationships with internal and externalstakeholders.
  • Project management skills with afocus on meeting deadlines and budgetconstraints.
  • Knowledge of risk management andquality assurance in aerospacemanufacturing.
  • Leadership qualities includingmentorship coaching and team development.
  • Soundunderstanding of cost analysis and financial management inmanufacturing operations.
  • Strong analytical andcritical thinking abilities to address complex engineeringchallenges.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic andevolving aerospace manufacturingenvironment.
