Job Description: To manage the entire gamut of corporate income tax, responsible for income tax audits, assessments, appeals, penalties, show cause, revision, an order giving appeal effects, refunds, rectification and other proceedings and other related matters before income tax assessment & appellate authorities.

Title: National Manager – Direct Tax 
Function: Finance- Taxation
Work Location: Bangalore

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for tax audit and filing corporate income tax return
• Prepare the annual compliance tax calendar and ensure the same is adhered to timely including calculating provision for tax, advance tax, deferred taxes, etc.
• Follow-ups with income tax authorities to pass rectification orders, and orders giving effect to appellate orders
• Follow up with income tax authorities to issue past refunds
• Maintaining the status of the open litigations, tax risks analysis, and defense strategy on an ongoing basis
• Drafting defense files, and memos and managing documentation in support of future assessments
• Interacting with external tax advisors/ counsels and Income tax authorities
• Keeping the organization aware of the implications of various direct tax laws
• Analysis of changes in tax provisions through the Finance Act
• Obtaining annual transfer pricing study, preparation of Form No 3CEB
• Support in Master File and Country by Country Reporting Compliances
• Verification of agreements signed with various stakeholders for completeness and documentation and answer queries on withholding tax provisions.
• Development and implementation of tax planning strategies, tax compliance, reporting for tax, and special projects
• Reporting to Corporate tax- HQ Atlanta on the status of the tax litigation (FIN 48) and quarterly tax package, monthly USGAAP deferred tax workings; responding to global internal audit queries related to taxation aspect

Functional Skills
• Extensive corporate tax knowledge
• Excellent understanding of income tax assessment procedures including faceless assessments and appeals
• Ability to handle scrutiny matters
• Strong experience to coordinate with consultants for the purpose of handling opinions/tax assessment hearing or providing information required for assessment
• Strong Knowledge of ERP and Accounting
• Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
• Dealing Tax points in IGAAP, US GAAP and Compliance Audits

• Team Leader- Direct Taxes

Geographical Scope: 
Reports To: VP Taxation
Key Customers:
Internal Customers: Other functions/sub-subfunctions in Finance, Zonal Finance, Commercial and procurement department
External Customers: Tax consultants, lawyers, regulatory authorities
Job Requirements: 
Qualifications: CA/ ICWA 
Experience: 8+ years of overall experience with a proven track record of handling direct tax matters for a minimum of 8 years in a reputed company or Big 4 consultancy firm

Travel: 4 to 7 days in a month
