Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Tooling Design and Development : Lead the design, development, and optimization of tooling systems to support manufacturing processes. This includes creating detailed tooling specifications, selecting appropriate materials and components, and overseeing the fabrication and testing of tooling solutions. Project Management: Manage tooling projects from conception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This involves coordinating with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in tooling design and manufacturing processes. Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance of tooling systems. Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure that tooling systems meet regulatory requirements and quality standards. Conduct thorough testing and validation of tooling solutions to verify performance and reliability. Collaboration : Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, and R&D teams to understand tooling requirements and provide technical expertise and support. Foster a collaborative and cross-functional approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians involved in tooling design and development. Share knowledge and best practices to build technical expertise within the team.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Tool Downtime: Measure the amount of downtime attributable to tool-related issues and aim to minimize it to optimize production efficiency. Tool Maintenance Costs: Monitor the costs associated with tool maintenance, repairs, and replacements to ensure cost-effectiveness and budget compliance. Tool Calibration Accuracy: Assess the accuracy of tool calibration processes and strive to maintain or improve precision to meet quality standards. Production Efficiency: Track the impact of tool maintenance and improvements on production efficiency, aiming for continuous improvement over time. Safety Incidents: Monitor the frequency and severity of safety incidents related to tools and equipment to identify areas for improvement and ensure a safe working environment. Tool Reliability: Measure the reliability of tools and equipment by tracking instances of breakdowns or malfunctions and implementing preventive measures to enhance reliability. Inventory Management: Evaluate tool inventory levels and turnover rates to ensure adequate availability while minimizing excess stock and associated costs. Employee Training Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of employee training programs on tool usage, maintenance, and safety by tracking performance and adherence to protocols.About Luminous
