Job Description

As the Engineering Director within the IT team at Freshworks, you will lead a talented group of engineers and drive the development of cutting-edge solutions to enhance internal processes and employee experiences. You will play a pivotal role in setting the vision for the team's holistic growth while collaborating closely with functional stakeholders to align IT initiatives with organizational objectives. An understanding of AI/ML and its application in IT implementations will be a significant advantage in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

  • Set clear objectives, provide ongoing feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities to drive the team's success.

  • Strategic Vision and Roadmap:

  • Define and communicate the strategic direction for IT solutions, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Develop and execute a roadmap for the continuous improvement of point-to-point integrations, internal web applications, scripts, RPA, and QA processes.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate closely with functional stakeholders across departments to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Build strong relationships and foster a culture of partnership to ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Technology Innovation and Implementation:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in AI/ML, and identify opportunities to leverage them in IT implementations.

  • Drive innovation by championing the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and performance.

  • Quality Assurance and Process Optimization:

  • Oversee the QA process to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet industry standards and compliance requirements.

  • Continuously optimize processes and workflows to streamline development cycles, reduce time to market, and enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an IT or software development organization.

  • Strong technical background with expertise in point-to-point integrations, web development, scripting, RPA, and QA methodologies.

  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and their application in IT solutions is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, foster innovation, and lead cross-functional teams to success.
