Job Description
As the Engineering Director within the IT team at Freshworks, you will lead a talented group of engineers and drive the development of cutting-edge solutions to enhance internal processes and employee experiences. You will play a pivotal role in setting the vision for the team's holistic growth while collaborating closely with functional stakeholders to align IT initiatives with organizational objectives. An understanding of AI/ML and its application in IT implementations will be a significant advantage in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Set clear objectives, provide ongoing feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities to drive the team's success.
Strategic Vision and Roadmap:
Define and communicate the strategic direction for IT solutions, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Develop and execute a roadmap for the continuous improvement of point-to-point integrations, internal web applications, scripts, RPA, and QA processes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate closely with functional stakeholders across departments to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Build strong relationships and foster a culture of partnership to ensure the successful delivery of IT solutions that meet business requirements.
Technology Innovation and Implementation:
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in AI/ML, and identify opportunities to leverage them in IT implementations.
Drive innovation by championing the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and performance.
Quality Assurance and Process Optimization:
Oversee the QA process to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet industry standards and compliance requirements.
Continuously optimize processes and workflows to streamline development cycles, reduce time to market, and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a leadership role within an IT or software development organization.
Strong technical background with expertise in point-to-point integrations, web development, scripting, RPA, and QA methodologies.
Experience with AI/ML technologies and their application in IT solutions is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, foster innovation, and lead cross-functional teams to success.
