Senior IBM MQ Engineer specializing in cloud environments. This position involves managing and maintaining IBM MQ infrastructures, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and availability, both on-premises and in cloud environments (AWS or GCP). Here is a detailed look at the role

What will your day look like

Manage and maintain IBM MQ environments, including configuration, deployment, and upgrades.

Design, implement, and configure MQ infrastructure, including clustering and high availability setups.

Work with MQ version 9.x and manage RDQM (Replicated Data Queue Manager) or MIMQ (Multi-Instance MQ) configurations.

Deploy and manage MQ on cloud platforms, specifically AWS or GCP.

Provide production support, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance tuning.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments using tools such as Terraform and Git.

Diagnose and resolve defects and issues in MQ environments, demonstrating strong triage and problem-solving skills

What will you bring?

IBM MQ Administration Strong demonstration of IBM MQ and IIB system administration Strong hands-on experience in setting up MQ infrastructure and enabling clustering. Good background in production support on the systems administration Work experience on latest MQ version 9.x and RDQM/MIMQ configurations. Knowledge on MQ in cloud (GCP or AWS). Knowledge in CI/CD and pipeline automation, terraform, git source control tools Knowledge on MQ monitoring like Tivoli, Omegamon or BMC SSL Administration like certificate renewal and monitoring Interaction with Vendors, liaising with them on escalation of production support calls Ability to diagnose defects/issues, and demonstrates triage and problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions Good experience in debugging shell scripts and Python programming Ability to analyse and evaluate designs and understand process flow Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive and collaborative relationships and share knowledge Programming and scripting knowledge Knowledge in Containerisation / Kubernetes / OpenShift platform
