The Finance Data Science & Analytics group sits within Corporate Planning & Analysis organization at American Express.We are a crew of highly trained Data scientists and Finance professionals whose vision is to be the analytical powerhouse driving growth for the enterprise by empowering smarter, profitable, real-time decisions. We work to transform the way data science credibly drives sustainable, long-term growth for the company as early adopters of next-generation technology. We re-invent forecasting, tracking and analytical processes, leveraging the latest tools and setting the standard for advanced analytics.

Our team is looking for a full-time Manager to support Finance Data Science & Analytics leadership team. This role will be based in Gurgaon, India and is a flexible hybrid role, splitting time each week between working virtually and on-site at the Amex Building.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, able to exercise discretion and independent judgement while also having the confidence and professionalism to interact with colleagues across levels to get the job done.

Responsibilities:

Lead, engage, and inspire a team of high performing data science professionals: Develop predictive modeling that incorporates behaviors and increased level of data granularity. Use machine learning techniques to improve forecasts and produce business insights; leverage visualization and reporting tools. Partner across Finance, Risk and Business to derive strategic insights, provide thought leadership into key findings and actionable recommendations to influence business strategy. Understand and adopt emerging technology that can affect the application of the quantitative analytical approaches and technique.

Minimum Qualifications:

Significant hands-on experience managing/ leading projects using large amounts of data and application of advanced predictive analytics. Prior 6+ Years of Relevant/Related Work Experience with Consistent Track Record of Strong Performance Proficiency in SQL, Hive, Python, Pyspark, Machine Learning Techniques Power BI or other visualization tools experience is strongly preferred. Bachelors/Masters or PhD in a quantitative field - Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics

Highly motivated individual with desire to work on ambiguous projects, with the ability to break down and execute on complex ideas. Be data-driven, outcome-focused and fast learner. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail Ability to influence people across all levels of the organization. Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts. Ability to solve ad-hoc business problems independently and manage multiple priorities and projects while adhering to deadlines.
