Position Purpose

The Assistant Cost Manager supports the cost managementteam in overseeing and managing project costs to ensure financialobjectives are met. This role involves assisting with costestimation budgeting cost control and financial reporting. TheAssistant Cost Manager works closely with senior cost managers andproject teams to deliver accurate and timely cost information andto help maintain financial control over projects.

Qualifications andExperience:

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in BTech/BE Civil

Experience:

  • 45 years of experience in cost managementfinance or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and numericalskills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suiteparticularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with costmanagement software (e.g. CostX Sage) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonalskills.
  • Ability to work independently and aspart of a team.
  • Detailoriented with strongorganizational skills.

OtherRequirements:

  • Willingness to learn and develop in the field of costmanagement.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasksand meet deadlines.
  • A proactive andproblemsolving mindset.

Duties &Responsibilities:

CostEstimation:

Assist in preparingdetailed cost estimates for various project stages.

Analyse project specifications and requirements todevelop accurate cost estimates.

Conduct marketresearch to obtain current cost data for materials labour andequipment.

Budgeting and CostControl:

Develop and maintainproject budgets and forecasts.

Monitor projectcosts against the budget and report any variances.

Implement cost control measures to ensure project costsremain within budget.

Review and analyse costreports and provide insights on cost performance.

FinancialReporting:

Prepare financialreports including cost reports cash flow projections and budgetupdates.

Maintain accurate records of projectfinancial transactions.

Provide data andinsights for regular financial reviews and audits.

ProcurementSupport:

Prepare procurementdocuments including requests for proposals (RFPs) andcontracts.

Evaluate bids and proposals toensure costeffectiveness.

Maintainrelationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure competitivepricing.

ProjectSupport:

Collaborate withproject teams to understand project objectives schedules andrequirements.

Attend project meetings andprovide costrelated insights and recommendations.

Support the resolution of costrelated issues anddisputes.

Assist in the preparation ofcostrelated documentation and presentations for projectstakeholders.

DataManagement:

Maintain and updatecost databases and records.

Develop andmaintain cost management tools and software.

Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all cost managementactivities.
