The Role

Enterprise Automation

 Job role: Systems Management Specialist: Mainframe System Automation Tool Maintenance

Job description: The Automation Sysprog is responsible for research, analysis, documentation, and presentation of effective methods of consolidating various jobs/workflows/started tasks and automating them to prevent manual intervention from Operations.

Automation also provides recovery processes to support high availability initiatives.

The Automation analyst is responsible for evaluating and projecting impacts of actual or proposed changes in jobs codes wherever necessary or in the job scheduler. Ideally, the individual would benefit from understand processes from both the Infrastructure Operations Center, and the Lines of Business.

Skills required

• 6+ Yrs experience in Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of IBM Z/OS Mainframe Automation products. Proactive automation solutions, including project lead. Client collaboration projects, and technical refresh. Innovative solution design.

• Testing, Change and Problem Management. Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, training/peering of graduates.

 • Experience and Expertise on software migration and maintenance procedures - Install, backout, re-migration process.

• Experience and good exposure to unsupported, new features in the recent versions.

• Patching, testing, upgrades, installation. Coding for Z/OS, REXX, Tivoli Netview, Systems Automation for Z/OS, WAC ( IBM Worldwide Automation Configurator ) , COBOL, RPG, JCL, PROCS. Good overall knowledge in all facets of IT. Peer review of changes/projects. High scale automation of large mainframe based enterprise.

Required Skills and Experience

•Must be proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, C++
•Excels in problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•Experience in operating systems (Linux, UNIX, or z/OS)

Preferred Skills and Experience

•Experience with NetView / SysView, FTP, SFTP, Axway CFT, Connect: Direct, VIPA, DVIPA, etc. ideally in a complex GDPS environment
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
