Your Role and Responsibilities
- Create high-level designs, detail level designs, maintaining product roadmaps which includes both modernization and leveraging cloud solutions, product technical debt, and mentorship.
- Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links.
- Analyze and resolve software program and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
- Assist in system design, development and implementation.
- Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
- Will ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manage meet the needs of the users.
- Help the team to work together in an agile fashion, to jointly own the solution, and to interface well with other parts of the organization
- Manage the day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance. and repair.
- Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
- Diagnose and recommend fixes to problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software, and systems.
- Ensure the stable operation of the computer software systems and network connections.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- The ZOS Solution Architect would need to have at least 10+ years of IT experience.
- 10+ years of infrastructure system administration experience in a large z/OS Db2 enterprise environment
- Experience on version upgrades for ZOS.
- Experience on migration from ZOS on to LUW preferred.
- Experience with Classic CDC and Infosphere CDC on DB2 ZOS and IMS is required
- Experience with Migration from DB2 LUW to Mainframes and Vice Versa is must.
- Experience on IMS is required
- Day to day experience in building and supporting z/OS systems.
- Demonstrated strength in troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Skills to deal with audit requirements, providing artifacts from the z/OS environment.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience on DB2 ZOS Modernization is preferred.
- Linux, AIX, Windows server administration experience preferred.
- IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner Professional Certificate preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
