Job Purpose
Within Microsoft Digital, The Infrastructure & Engineering Services team is chartered to deliver innovative experiences across our hosted ecosystem. Experiences such as abstracted hybrid provisioning, intelligent manageability, telemetry, advanced security, and OS management, and implementing modern technologies for network, and hosting infrastructure. Being part of IES, the ideal candidate will own delivering cutting-edge infrastructure services for this large portfolio which includes understanding and delivering against customer-led scenarios ranging from providing modern devices connectivity for global sites, adopting cloud capabilities, Infrastructure compliance, stability, and reliability initiatives and more.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Service Engineers to help us evolve our product mindset, drive a growth-mindset culture, and deliver industry-leading results.
Network Defense leads security standards, policies, vulnerability management, and compliance of network infrastructure. We define standards, detect and surface security gaps, and publish self-service guidance and toolkits. Modernization is a high priority and we strive for adoption of native Azure solutions and to reimagine security integration with AI, automation, and code development. We look first for ways to automate and optimize then drive outcomes back into preventative solutions. The team is motivated every day to lead our space with a world view and we aspire to create solutions that will influence the industry and are sharable with Microsoft Enterprise customers.

Experience working in cyber security (Information Security, InfoSec, SecOps, Security Operations, SOC, CSOC, CDOC, analyst, researcher, etc.) Experience managing, designing, or supporting network infrastructure (cloud and/or on premise). ISE AAA, RSA, etc Self-motivated and results-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple demands and shifting priorities. Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate both high level multi year plans and technical details with varying levels of management and engineering. Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams to drive architectural changes that improve the stability and security of each environment. Support innovation and cost management by developing new ideas for network security systems and tools that meet customer and/or business needs. Take your ideas from design to production – own it end to end. Applicants must have the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements required for this role. A well-qualified candidate will meet one or more of the following criteria:
Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as computer security, network engineering, computer science, computer engineering or information technology. Experience with Cloud Security Technologies such as Azure Sentinel, Azure Defender, Azure Security Center, Azure Threat Protection, Azure Data Explorer and Azure Log Analytics or similar products like ArcSight, Splunk and Logstash. Deep understanding of adversary and cyber intel frameworks such as kill-chain model, ATT&CK framework, Diamond Model and Advanced Persistent Threat (APT). Experience building a community and sharing blog posts, technical write-ups, articles etc. Coding and scripting experience, particularly those related to security and data science like KQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, R, PowerShell, Common Query languages (SQL, DAX, PowerQuery), Azure Data Factory, and various Azure-based tools. Hands-on experience building Azure-based services with Azure Sentinel, Azure policy, KeyVault, Azure Security Center Hands-on experience with developer environment tools like Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Agile Scrum. Certifications like GCIA, GSLC, GCIH, CISM, CISSP, CEH, etc. are plus. Certifications from Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, etc.Location: Hyderabad, India.

As a security focused Service Engineer you will solve challenging problems through innovative engineering of end-to-end solutions while showcasing the team’s achievements both internally and externally giving you opportunities to influence the industry. You will work closely with other cloud and physical network infrastructure security experts across Microsoft to investigate threats, coordinate response and remediation, partner with engineering teams on secure network design and policy, improve and automate processes, and contribute your experience and expertise to enhance the security of our hybrid network environment. You will also partner with Azure product groups by providing requirements, pilot new features, and increase Azure adoption through modernizing our solutions which contributes to improved Microsoft’s product quality for external customers.
