The role of Senior Associate Technical Writer is to write medium to complex company documents such as instruction manuals, intermediate to end-user manuals, reference guides, operating procedure guides, white papers, and specialized product descriptions.

This role is responsible for writing complex ideas in simple ways. They research, create write and edit content for internal. Technical Writers provide applicable skills in all stages of business communications.

This role takes guidance from a more experienced Technical Writer in the team, or alternatively from line management.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Create clear and concise material, taking care of editing and proofreading tasksUpdate and maintain a library of service catalogues and associated documents such as RACI's etc.Revise or rewrite existing technical documentationResearch and gather information and study target audiencesTest whether users understand newly developed materialCollaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the subject is understoodWork closely with printers, illustrators, graphic designers, translators and other relevant professionalsStay up to date with the latest trends and developments in the industryTake guidance from more experienced members in the teamCompile information by order of usabilityOrganize all documents into the database and make copies for data security


Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

Ability to conduct proper subject matter research to enable the writing of relevant materialAbility to do effectively plan out any development requirementsExcellent communication skills to be able to transfer knowledge without resorting to complex languageAbility to apply critical thinking to sift through relevant vs irrelevant informationKnowledge of writing software toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEfficiency in proof readingAbility to interact with all stakeholders – technical and non-technicalAbility to explain technical concepts to non-technical peopleGood project management skills


Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field


Required Experience:

Moderate level experience working in a similar position gained within an Information Technology global organisation
