The learning and development experience is designed to prepare our consultants for their current roles and the next level of challenges in their career progression. It is delivered through a combination of live (local, regional, and worldwide) and distance learning offerings (e-learning and virtual classrooms).
The Global Learning & Development (L&D) Team (NDE) is overseeing and managing the participant pools of worldwide, regional training programs, as well as supporting the planning, preparation, execution of various L&D programs and campaigns, including calendar scheduling, program hosting, material preparation, and program and cost analysis.
The Global L&D Team is a dynamic group, constantly required to evolve with the needs of the business. This means that roles are flexible and vary depending on global priorities. The duties of this role will change in the same way but the initial allocations and focus of the role are likely to be as follows-
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead & Manage Team: Directly manage and supervise a Global L&D Operations team of 5-10 members, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality outputs to stakeholders.
- Capacity Planning & Utilization: Design and implement staffing plans to optimize team capacity, ensuring maximum productivity while maintaining quality standards.
- Team Development & Upskilling: Collaborate with line managers to identify focus areas, skill gaps, and provide upskilling opportunities as needed to enhance team capabilities.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong, credible relationships across teams, adapting to client feedback and fostering collaboration to achieve common goals.
- Matrix Collaboration: Effectively partner with stakeholders in a matrix structure, ensuring alignment and shared success across various teams.
- L&D Strategy & Participant Management: Develop and implement effective L&D communication strategies while overseeing the global participant lifecycle, including registration, cancellations, logistics, and database management.
- Virtual Event Hosting: When required, host virtual live sessions, including welcoming participants, introducing presenters, and managing session flow from start to finish.
- Effective Communication: Ensure consistent, clear communication practices across the team. Push for strong relationships with stakeholders by delivering accurate, relevant data and insights.
- Strong storytelling: Create clear, compelling and audience-orientated stories in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Project Involvement & Innovation: Contribute to local and global projects, driving continuous improvement in services, and bringing innovative ideas to action.
- LMS Expertise: Bring hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably SABA or similar platforms.
- Training & Onboarding: Lead onboarding and upskilling efforts for new team members and assist in cross-team training as required.
What You'll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent and experience working within a fast-paced, challenging organization.
- A passion and interest in Learning & Development.
- You’ll have had 9-11 years of experience in a people function, understanding what it takes to deliver the best service to your clients.
- Experience in a professional services firm, working with a global virtual team would be an advantage.
- Experience managing and leading a diverse fast-paced team.
- Experience in ensuring operations run smoothly and effectively.
- You have demonstrated success within a role and can explain how you delivered both operationally and strategically – potentially beyond your initial scope.
- Organizational skills second to none, and the ability to think big whilst considering all the detail, often at the same time.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving approaches and the ability to influence.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to juggle many, often competing priorities simultaneously.
- An active team player with strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Comfortable in both working in detail and understanding the big picture; able to consider the ramifications of decisions on various constituencies.
- Reason minded with a pragmatic and hands-on approach.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, ideally Slack, Trello, Experience with LMS system SABA or equivalent and hands on managing a ticketing tool like Service NOW.
- A strong intellectual curiosity. You’re a creative thinker, interested in the bigger picture and challenging the status quo.
Who You'll Work With
A passionate and dedicated Learning & Development team, who are currently spread across the US, Europe, and Costa Rica. You will be part of the operations team that oversees the overall orchestrations of some of the programs, in close contact with the “Global L&D Service Center” which is part of the team and handling the entire participant management. As a complex matrix structured organization, you will also work with L&D teams in our local systems across our regions as well as with counterparts and colleagues in the Regional L&D teams. You will establish strong relationships across our people functions and beyond to successfully learn, educate and influence others.Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
