We look forward to making our world become a better place with you on our team. Apply and discover what’s next todayAs a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the payroll function for Protegrity India within finance ensuring delivery of payroll calculations, salary payments and certain compliance activities within defined timelines as outlined in this document.As a payroll specialist you should be able to use the payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. You are good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. You also have great communication skills to interact with your colleagues and executives.The goal is to ensure accurate and timely payment of the compensation while being compliant with applicable laws and regulations. You must have an eye for detail and be comfortable working with numbers and multiple systems and tools. You must be able to review the work of the payroll service provider and identify / highlight errors / omissions and implement process improvements. You should be comfortable working in a remote environment and coordinating and collaborating virtually with the internal teams and the service providers. You as an individual contributor should also possess enthusiasm and entrepreneurial skills to be successful in a semi-unstructured environment within a matrixed growth organization.In this role you will be working closely with Finance Director and HR. 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for end-to-end processing of payroll for all India employees. Be the POC from Protegrity India with the payroll vendor Upload monthly payroll data inputs to the payroll vendor Prepare and share the payroll related data in specified template(s) related to new hires, exits, changes to job title/manager/location/salary/bank account Review leave report, follow up with managers for approval for pending approvals (in case of LOP) and provide LOP input, if any For exit cases, provide applicable inputs for Full & Final settlement such as Annual Leave balance and Gratuity etc. Review draft paysheet against the inputs given Review Flexi benefit claims against the data provided by Payroll service provider Take manager approval on the final paysheet Prepare bank statement as per the template and take manager approval Upload bank statement onto the bank portal for approval Responsible for calculation and payment of payroll related deductions (TDS, PT, PF, ESIC, LWF) within the due dates. Addition/deletion of employees in the various portals ie. PF, ESIC Approve employee KYC, Transfers in the PF portal Ensure that all reports are uploaded by the Payroll Service Provider on time Validate the reports Release reports for payment Ensure the service provider files monthly/quarterly/annual returns as applicable Responsible for maintaining all data/records in the required formats for all statutory compliances (we are not maintaining such records currently, only work on them as and when required in some audit/inspection)

Qualifications:

Commerce Graduate from a reputed university or a part qualified CA / CMA A payroll certification such CPS / CPP will be an added advantage Minimum 3+ years of working experience in payroll processing, compliance and allied activities Strong knowledge of payroll related statues and regulations such as Income Tax Provisions related to individual taxation, PF/PT/ESIC/LWF provisions related to deductions / contributions and periodic returns Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a collaborative approach, and an aptitude for problem solving Demonstrated ability to build strong internal relationships Ability to prioritize and manage employee escalations
