The Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is a new initiative within Aon to deliver innovative consulting and technology solutions to its clients. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for the deployment and support of a suite of multi-tier applications for cloud-based deployments.

You will support the team with pre-deployment requirements gathering, application deployments and configuration and on-going maintenance of our applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be involved in improving our DevOps story, feeding back experiences and requirements to the application teams, and implementing improvements. You will provide guidance to client support / IT teams in establishing best practices for supporting Aon Tyche applications and field support queries from those teams. You will use your experience and knowledge to diagnose environment specific problems and work with application and IT Teams (both internal and external) to implement secure and robust solutions. You will build ongoing relationships with Client IT Teams and proactively engage with them to ensure a reliable end user experience across multiple upgrade cycles over the lifespan of the applications.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Knowledge in CI/CD best practice and strong working experience in CI/CD Pipelines in a distributed environment. Must have Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines. Experience in application deployments via Octopus. Expertise with Powershell, Bash scripting etc. Expertise in implementing CI/CD for various web applications developed in Angular/React, .NET applications. Expertise in building packages using webpack, node & npm, yarn etc. Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and DevOps practices. Working knowledge of Terraform and Ansible for performing DevOps on cloud platforms. The ability to work independently. Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

In addition, the following are highly desirable

Familiarity with core Azure services. Scripting / Automation experience e.g. Powershell, Bash Experience with issue management tooling e.g. Jira Experience in containerizing angular application, databases & .net core application.
