Job Description:
Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Senior Manager - Validation. A candidate placed in this position will be a leader in the USB and Networking Validation Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches, USB 3.2 hubs, PCI-Express, and other connectivity interfaces in excess of 25Gbps.
Responsibilities include:
Managing a 2-3 teams of Validation engineers, focused on different projects. Developing additional local staff and hiring Strong ability to multi-task Develop validation and test plan documentation based on datasheets and by thinking beyond the design implementation to find elusive bugs and ensure sufficient test coverage to reach a production worthy device. Specify and design test environments including: Software requirements, Lab Equipment requirements, and Test board designs Work with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Applications Engineering to validate new silicon products. When necessary, work in the lab to help validation team work through difficult problems and replicate customer issues. Manage resolution of silicon issues found during product life cycle.Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 15+ Years combined experience in: High-Speed Digital design and/or Test, Analog/Mixed-Signal design and/or Test, Systems design and/or Test, and/or Power IC Design and/or Test Prior experience managing teams and multiple projects Able to think of test cases and customer usage model that may violate the assumptions of designers and architects. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization skills and the ability to develop hardware design specification based on input from multiple stakeholders and specifications. Strong working knowledge of Electronics Lab equipment, e.g., Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer Must be self-motivated and able to work in collaborative group environment. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Desired Skills/Knowledge:
