This is a remote position.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in Python and a passion for building robust, scalable backend systems. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will work closely with our development team to design, develop, and deploy backend services and APIs that power our platform. This role is perfect for individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and have a deep understanding of backend technologies and cloud infrastructure.


Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python.

- Integrate third-party APIs and develop new APIs for internal and external use.

- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure our applications.

- Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS.

- Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to design and manage data storage solutions.

- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our backend services remain cutting-edge.



Requirements

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Backend Developer.

- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with Django, Flask, or similar frameworks.

- Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.

- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.).

- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).

- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.


Preferred Skills

- Experience with modern frameworks and libraries for building backend systems (e.g., FastAPI, GraphQL, Flask).

- Knowledge of Generative AI technologies and workflows:

  - Creating chatbots.

  - Building a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system.

  - Using and deploying open source LLMs.

  - Fine-tuning LLMs.

  - Parsing documents.

- Familiarity with microservice architecture.

- Experience with serverless computing.
