About this opportunity

Our GFGO Global Business Services Global Shared Service Centre for Learning Operations fulfils a pivotal role towards all Ericsson employees, with global responsibility for the efficient operations of our total employee learning offering.

As the SQL Database Administration, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation, security, and performance of our database servers. Your responsibilities will include installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of database servers, as well as optimizing queries for efficient database operation. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and implementing database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and quality, and participating in cross-functional teams for database-related projects.

What you will do

Installation, configuration, and upgrading of database servers. Monitoring and maintaining database performance. Troubleshooting database-related issues. Optimizing queries and ensuring efficient database operation. Planning and implementing database backup and recovery strategies. Regularly backing up databases and verifying backup integrity. Testing and implementing disaster recovery plans. Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks. Analysing database usage patterns and optimizing database configuration. Monitoring database growth and resource usage. Forecasting future capacity requirements and scaling resources accordingly. Planning and implementing database expansion or consolidation as needed. Generating regular reports on database performance, security, and availability. Providing technical support and guidance to users and application teams. Participating in cross-functional teams for projects involving database changes or enhancements.

You will bring

Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator and VBA Scripting or similar role. In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database management and administration. Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuning. Experience with database security protocols and best practices. Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.  3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
