We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Operational Efficiency Subject Matter Expert (SME), Fee Billing Operations (VP)

Principal responsibilities

Newly created individual contributor role to lead the standardization and optimization of Fee Billing activities.

The role holder is expected to:

Support Migration related activities from legacy system to new systems Conduct current state review of upstream process to identify process improvement opportunities Identification of Critical data points across systems & agreements Gap analysis amongst various data sources and development of recons Support Standardizing fee agreements with Client Mgmt. Automation of the static data input & fee tariff management process within Ops Proactively identify control gaps and drive error rates down within Ops Develop Data strategy with CDO for Fee Billing Apart from the above KRAs – the role holder is also expected to lead and or assist in the following: Identify and implement the new technology for this process with an aim to eliminate manual processing / controls in the existing process across products and jurisdictions. Best practices identified in the process reviews to be shared and implemented across jurisdictions if agreed as per Standard Operating model. This will also include any EUC usage which can be put to use across jurisdiction as a tactical fix until we implement the strategic solution. Increased productivity / work output by effective resource& shift management as a result of better utilization of non-peak period resource availability. Specialization and standardization in fee billing activities across products and jurisdictions by reviewing and challenging the jurisdictional level process differences. Better position to challenge the bespoke exceptions if any for any client in any jurisdiction as we now have broad visibility of the clients across jurisdictions how they have been serviced. Better control and remediation of risks/audit findings.

Customers / Stakeholders

Large global institutional clients to include pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, central banks, international central securities depositories Supporting single product line, multiple region, multiple jurisdiction Key stake holders include regional product teams and business partners and external customers

Leadership & Teamwork

Leading ring-fenced resources as/when needed Work closely with other VPs in MSS Ops / GBM and GSC as part of the BLRManco. Lead Centre wide initiatives in BLR and drive a standardized functional model where functional responsibilities exist Actively participate in the business partner steering committees and where possible product /regional MANCO

Operational Effectiveness & Control

Majority of MSS Ops globally have been offshored representing high operational risk environment. Identified as a high risk role within the MSS Ops and GSD environment Operational risk threshold through 'single event' control failure identified to USD10m based on 3-5 year data. Large variation and the manual nature of processes required by Product / System / Country / Client Requirements

Qualifications

Degree level or equivalent qualification an essential.

Professional Skills & Experience

Extensive working experience (indicative 10+ years) in the financial services industry, to include:

Specific work experience in Securities Services Fee Billing processes (indicative 5+ years) Knowledge of clients and products across range of securities services Stakeholder management with exposure to business partners across multiple geographical locations. Risk and control management in an operations environment For potential future roles - People management with exposure to remuneration, performance management, team building and staff development.

Personal Skills & Qualities

Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively in English, both oral and written Multi-cultural background or experience, ability to work across broad range of cultures in support of HSBC Group values and objectives Strong analytical skills with change management experience Strong collaborative management skills with the various stakeholders
