Functional Description :
The Risk Oversight organization within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express.
We are seeking experienced Risk and compliance professionals who want to be a part of the evolution for the next generation of risk management.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Incumbent will be part of Enterprise Risk Management team, American Express, India within the GRC organization and will roll into the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) team of AEBC India. The incumbent will support the oversight of the AEBC India’s Enterprise Risks, including Credit Risk, Operational Risk(IT/IS), Asset and Liability Management Risks, and Liquidity & Funding Risks. The incumbent will work with a team of risk professionals in India and will be responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on enterprise-wide risks.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop risk tolerance limits and establish risk appetite metrics and escalation thresholds for all major risk types especially pertaining to operational risks including IT / IS, Cyber security, privacy, Third party. Generate dashboards to monitor IT/IS /third party risks for reporting to the Risk Management Committee and Senior Management Support in conducting risk assessment and reviews of operational risk Pillar including but not limited to Information Technology & Information Security, Privacy, Fraud and Cyber security risks etc. and identifying gaps against regulatory requirements/ internal policies or industry standards. Facilitate collation, review and validation of responses for regulatory exam /ad hoc queries raised by RBI with respect to IT/IS risks and provide effective challenge to first line team.Minimum Qualifications:
Technical Skills / Experience:
Advanced degree in economics, business, engineering, banking or a related field. 2+ years of experience in IT/IS /Cyber Security / consulting. Industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC) would be preferred. Understanding of risk assessment methodologies, frameworks and industry standards (e.g. COSO, COBIT, ISO 27001) would be preferred. Experience in risk management across cyber security, information technology, operational risk Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective. Strong understanding of local market regulatory requirements and banking industry especially those pertaining to cyber security risk, privacy risk and operational risk. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Strong knowledge of SAS/SQL/ Hive/ Python / R is a plus.Soft Skills:
