Our Client is a leading MNC Manufacturing company in field of screening & auxilary solutions for Petrochemicals, Food, beverages & Chemicals companies. Company has more then 200 employees & having their plant at Sanad GIDC, Ahmedabad. They are looking for staff for below mentioned position.


Position: Senior Sales Engineer Water well products

Location: GIDC Sanand, Ahmedabad.

Timing: 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM ( 5 Days Week)

Experience : 6-8 Year in Proposal & Estimation of engineering products.

Salary: Rs. 6 Lacs to 6.5 Lacs + Group Mediclaim + Transport Facility from Ahmedabad + Subsidized Canteen + Group Accident Policy


The position of Senior Sales Engineer Water Well Products is designed for a professional with a strong technical and sales background to lead business expansion in the water well sector, particularly focusing on PVC products like pipes, fittings, and water well screens. The role is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and covers the western and northern regions of India, which are key markets for water well products, groundwater recharging projects, infiltration galleries and irrigation products.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Expansion:

Goal: To drive the sales of water well products (such as casing pipes, screen pipes, column pipes) across northern and western India.

Actions: The Senior Sales Engineer will implement a strategic plan to increase the companys market share. This includes identifying potential customers, opening new markets, and working on new business opportunities. A significant part of this role is to identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments and public sector units (PSUs), such as Jal Nigam, municipal corporations, and public health & engineering departments.

2. Sales and Marketing Strategy:

The candidate will be responsible for developing annual sales plans and marketing strategies with clear targets for revenue growth. This includes working closely with the sales head and senior management to ensure alignment with the companys broader strategic goals. The strategy will involve both retail sales through dealer networks and project-based sales to large contractors or government entities. The Senior Sales Engineer must calculate sales growth potential from existing customers and assess new market opportunities, suggesting adjustments to the product portfolio based on regional needs.

3. Dealer and Distributor Network Development:

One of the key tasks is to build and manage a strong dealer and distributor network for retail sales. The engineer will identify and recommend partners for the company and ensure that the dealer network is operating effectively to drive sales and market penetration.

4. Customer and Market Engagement:

The role involves direct interaction with customers, consultants, and clients to understand their requirements and applications. The Senior Sales Engineer must be able to provide technical support, including preparing techno-commercial proposals and guiding customers on the selection and sizing of products. Once a proposal is submitted, the Senior Sales Engineer negotiates pricing and contract terms to close the sale.

5. Relationship Building and Customer Management:

Building long-term relationships with government officials, contractors, borewell drillers, and other stakeholders in the water, wastewater, and irrigation industry is critical to this role. The candidate will need to cultivate relationships across different customer levels, including senior decision-makers. In addition, there will be a need to keep abreast of EPC contracts and tenders, ensuring that the company remains competitive and successful in bidding processes for large-scale projects.

6. Extensive Travel:

The position requires 15-20 days of travel per month to meet customers and distributors, visit project sites, and engage with stakeholders. The travel focus will be on the northern and western regions of India.

7. Product and Technology Promotion:

The Senior Sales Engineer will also be tasked with driving the sales of new products and technologies in the assigned territory. This involves staying updated on industry trends and developments, presenting these advancements to customers, and incorporating them into the companys product offerings.

8. Team Management and Inter-Department Collaboration:

The role requires coordination with other departments like customer support, operations, and sales management to ensure seamless execution of sales plans and client requirements. Additionally, the engineer will manage relationships within the sales team and across departments to foster teamwork and drive the companys goals.

9. Sales Targets and Forecasting:

The candidate will be responsible for setting and meeting sales targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Regular updates and reports will be provided to senior management, detailing progress against goals, potential risks, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

Engineering Degree: The candidate should hold a graduate degree in engineering from a reputable institution, with preference given to those with experience in pipes, irrigation, and water well products.

Experience: A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in retail, project, or institutional sales of relevant products (PVC pipes, pumps, steel tubing, water well screens) is required. Candidates with experience dealing with government departments, EPC contracts, and public sector units will be prioritized.

Geographical Experience: Preference is given to candidates who have worked in the northern region of India, as they will be familiar with the local market dynamics and key customers.

Sales Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to manage relationships at all levels, including senior decision-makers in the public and private sectors, is crucial.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the water and irrigation industries, as well as an understanding of government tender processes and EPC contracts, will be key for success in this role.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required for preparing proposals, tracking sales, and reporting to senior management.
