We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our athenaCollector team.
In athenaCollector we build technology solutions that automate (RCM) Revenue Cycle Management. This Collector team is implementing the underlying medical back-office processes to automate and integrate the unique claims cycle requirements.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in building teams and attracting talent, developing career paths, and fostering a culture of innovation in similar high performing teams.
The Team : The athenaCollector product builds a critical part of the athenaOne platform, which helps our medical provider clients manage their business and revenue cycle (RCM), automating claims and billing for well over $200 billion in client revenue. This Zone is committed building new and exciting capabilities to improve how we help health practices collect the right patient insurance, understand eligibility benefits, improve cost transparency, drive effective billing workflows and offer flexible payment solutions. This team is focused on making the billing and payment process simple, transparent and flexible for both healthcare practices and their patients.
You will work with other teams to ensure a coherent, forward looking product features.You will work with product owners and user experience designers to design and build solutions. Ultimately your work will focus on improving corporate performance, product performance and clinical outcomes.
Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
4-8 years of experience in an engineering role
Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot.
Experience in Cloud Devops preferably AWS
Exposure to relational database technologies, RESTful APIand Modern JS frameworks (React JS)
Experience in an Agile environment preferred
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Ability to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable

Ability and willingness to demonstrate ownership of an area of athena’s technology
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
[Primary Function] Technical Execution
Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail
Deliver customer value in the form of high quality software components and services in adherence with RPR policies on Security, performance, longevity and Integration testing
Estimate the size of development tasks in story points with the goal of 80% accuracy; begin to challenge others during estimation
Understand and follow coding conventions, architectures, and best practices
Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes
Adhere to DOD (story definition of done) as part of the sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, code reviews, no regressions, bug fixes, documentation and adhere to best coding practices
Perform peer code reviews in order to ensure quality standards.
Contributions to the Team
Master the domain knowledge for area of assignment
Take ownership of what the team builds after the release; consider customer adoption as success criteria
Contribute to agile ceremonies to improve team performance
Volunteer for work in the backlog and commit to quality delivery; Coordinate efforts across the team to ensure completion and effectiveness
Participate and contribute to scrum meetings i.e. daily stand-up, sprint planning, readouts and retrospectives
Drive self-organization; help determine how the team functions in collaboration with your peers
Cross functional Coordination and Communication
Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals
Builds strong relationships with cross-functional team members
Share business and technical learnings with the broader engineering and product organization, while adapting approach for different audiences
Mentorship of Others
Advise and train members of the team to maximize overall productivity and effectiveness of the team.
