Aboutthe Position This is a100% fully remote position for one ofthe top 20 accounting firms in Canada. The firm s teams are diverse and you willwork closely together you will never be just a number at ourorganization. As a Senior Accountant youwill be working on assignments under the direct supervision of aDirector and a Partner for all types of assuranceengagements. You will be working in a broad range ofindustries on a variety of engagements including emergingindustries such as cannabis psychedelics and gaming. You willoversee entire engagements from planning to completion includingbut not limited to:
  • Completing and overseeing otherswork on audit files
  • Coaching Junior andIntermediate Accountants by providing input and expertise wherenecessary
  • Building effective and long lastingworking relationships on assignments with operational clientcontacts
  • Preparing complex areas of the file
  • Coordinating group audits with componentauditors in other cities and countries
  • Reviewing work completed by Junior and Intermediate team members
  • Responding effectively and efficiently toclient manager and partner requests
Summary ofResponsibilities
  • Planning execution and completion of audit files
  • Understanding technical standards with theexpected level of assistance and supervision
  • Ability to recognize relevant accounting and audit issues frombasic analysis
  • Building effective workingclient relationships on assignments with operational clientcontacts
  • Managing allocated projects orassignments including time management
  • Responding effectively to client manager and partner requests andsuggestions relating to an assignment
  • Supervising and training junior and intermediate staff
  • Maintaining technical knowledge IFRS ASPE CASby: attending educational workshops; reviewing professionalpublications; and establishing personal networks
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishingrelated results as needed

Requirements:
  • Possessing leadership qualitiesand ability to support team members and goals.
  • Strong commitment to quality
  • CPA designation or at least substantialprogress thereto
  • Thorough knowledge andexperience working with IFRS ASPE and CAS to be able to completecomplex areas of an engagement
  • Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills with the ability tocommunicate well with clients managers and partners
  • Strong file management skills andorganization
  • Ability to manage multipleengagements simultaneously
  • Proficiency inWord Excel PowerPoint Outlook
  • Experience withCaseware
