The Solar Civil and Structural Engineer plays a critical role in the planning, design, and execution of solar energy projects. This position is essential for ensuring that the structural components of solar installations are safe, durable, and capable of withstanding various environmental conditions. 

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Solar Engineer applies engineering principles to develop structural solutions that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of solar energy systems. 

This role involves assessing site conditions, designing structural frameworks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review civil and structural design drawings for solar installations.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate geological and environmental conditions.
  • Analyze structural loads and performance criteria for solar panels and support structures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Oversee the construction and installation of solar systems.
  • Conduct material selection and testing for durability and sustainability.
  • Implement quality control measures during project execution.
  • Provide insights to improve project designs and workflows.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in civil or structural engineering, preferably in renewable energy projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with construction oversight and inspections.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
