We are hiring for a professional services company seeking highly skilled individuals for the role of x86 BIOS/UEFI Development Engineer.


Experience: 3-6 years
Location: Bangalore

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86 platforms.
  • Work on the open-source coreboot project, including mainboard-related porting.
  • Collaborate with Intel FSP codebase and comprehend coreboot & FSP boot flow.
  • Utilize coreboot & FSP build tools and processes effectively.
  • Integrate and work with various coreboot payloads such as edk2, SeaBios, and Tianocore.
  • Analyze platform hardware and processor specifications to facilitate coreboot mainboard porting.
  • Port UEFI code to FSP by understanding UEFI framework concepts.
Mandatory Skills:
  • Proficient in C programming.
  • 3-6 years of experience in x86 BIOS/UEFI development.
  • Experience with open-source coreboot projects and mainboard-related porting.
  • Familiarity with Intel FSP codebase and coreboot & FSP boot flow.
  • Understanding of coreboot & FSP build tools and build processes.
  • Experience with different coreboot payloads like edk2, SeaBios, and Tianocore.
  • Ability to read and understand platform hardware and processor specifications for coreboot mainboard porting.
  • Strong understanding of UEFI framework concepts for porting UEFI code to FSP.
Additional Skillset:
  • Working knowledge of Git for code reviews, source code management, and BIOS releases to QA.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to various teams for custom BIOS requests.
  • Good understanding of industry-standard protocols like PCIe, SPI, eSPI.
  • Familiarity with specifications such as ACPI and SMM.
  • In-depth understanding of x86-64 architecture from a BIOS developer’s perspective.
  • Good understanding of UEFI BIOS boot flow.
  • Basic understanding of Linux Kernel software development concepts (Kconfig).
Academic Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from a reputed college.
  • Master’s degree from a reputed university is a plus.
