Designation : ETL Testing Engineer



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning and Design:

    • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Identify and document test scenarios, test data, and expected results.
    • Collaborate with ETL developers and business analysts to understand data flows, transformations, and business rules.

  • Test Execution:

    • Execute test cases manually or using automation tools.
    • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different stages of the ETL process.
    • Perform data profiling and quality checks to identify potential issues.
    • Analyze test results and generate detailed reports on test execution, defects, and findings.

  • Defect Tracking and Reporting:

    • Log and track defects in a defect tracking system.
    • Provide clear and concise defect descriptions, including error messages, screenshots, and step-by-step reproduction steps.
    • Work with development teams to resolve defects and ensure timely fixes.

  • Test Automation:

    • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.
    • Automate repetitive test cases to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
    • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing.

  • Data Validation and Analysis:

    • Use SQL queries and data analysis techniques to validate data against business rules and expected outcomes.
    • Analyze data quality metrics and identify potential data anomalies or inconsistencies.
    • Collaborate with data analysts to understand data usage and requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts and processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database querying.
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
