Job Description

Indirect tax compliance

Ensure timely payment and filing of returns for Excise duty, Service tax, VAT/CST, Entry tax, Professional tax Review of monthly/quarterly/half yearly tax computation and returns Assess the impact of amendment/notifications and court cases on organization Manage changes to be made in SAP processes to implement the changes made in tax regulations Manage Service tax and Excise audits and clarify various tax position taken by organization in line with tax laws Ensure timely completion of VAT/CST, Professional Tax and Entry tax assessment Work closely with cross function like Finance, logistics, Customer care to ensure availability of required information/documents.

Tax Risk assessment, mitigation and optimization

Timely review of various transactions/arrangements and contracts to identify tax risk, if any. Set tax risk mitigation strategy and assess the impact thereof on the organization Execute risk mitigation strategy in time frame manner Identify tax optimization opportunities and evaluate the same from risk and system limitation perspective Ensure availability of information and documents to justify the position taken by organization

Indirect tax litigation and manage relationship

Ensure reply to audit paras, SCNs, filing of appeals, stay application and miscellaneous application on time Arrange/collects information and documents as required to justify the position taken by organization on disputed issue Co-ordinate with consultants/counsels to assess the merits of the issue involved as disputed by tax authority Prepare quarterly tax exposure list and get it reviewed by Manager-Taxation Manage relationship with tax authority, big4 and cross functions Held meetings with various cross functions to address their concerns and provide solution to issues in time line manner

Indirect Tax Advisory

Advise on day-to-day basis the business units and cross functions on indirect tax matters in time line manner Held detail discussion with Indirect tax team on certain critical issues to ensure that tax team is aligned with tax strategies to be executed Organize tax workshop for Business units

Tax Accounting

Ensure timely submission of monthly entries to Global Finance Operation team Ensure timely and precise reconciliation of all the indirect tax accounts Ensure timely posting of entries proposed by Statutory auditor
