JOB DESCRIPTION


Identifying and selecting reliable suppliers for raw materials, machinery, and other components needed. They negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with suppliers to obtain the best value for the company.

Working hand in hand with the Stores team for Monitoring and maintaining adequate stock levels of raw materials and gear components to prevent production delays while avoiding excessive inventory costs. They need to strike the right balance to ensure smooth production operations.

Keeping track of costs related to procurement activities and finding ways to optimize expenses without compromising on quality and reliability. This may involve seeking competitive bids, exploring bulk purchasing options, and evaluating alternative suppliers.

Collaborating with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials meet the required standards and specifications. Maintaining a focus on sourcing high-quality materials is crucial for the Induction manufacturing to produce durable and reliable gears.

Coordinating with various departments within the company, such as production, engineering, and logistics, to ensure that materials are available when needed. Timely procurement is essential to avoid production delays and meet customer demands.

Identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions, changes in market conditions, or supplier-related issues that could impact the manufacturing process.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of sales agreements to maximize revenue and maintain profitability.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers in target industries.

Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations related to purchasing and supply chain management. This includes ethical sourcing practices, sustainability considerations, and adherence to legal requirements.

Staying updated with industry trends, new technologies, and developments in gear manufacturing and related fields. This knowledge helps in making informed decisions and staying competitive in the market.

Demonstrating ethical behavior and maintaining integrity throughout the procurement process.


Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of gearboxes, their applications, and relevant industries.
  • Cost-conscious mindset
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and persuade customers.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and result-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using CRM/ERP software, Microsoft Office, and other sales productivity tools.

Relevant Experience:

  • Previous experience in preferably in the Relevant or any other manufacturing industry.
