Job Description:

The Application Development Manager is responsible for global support of Global Business Services (GBS) operational technical systems' functionality allowing agents (i.e., customer service representatives) to handle customers' calls and research and resolve customers' issues. He/She manages the development of new applications, supports existing applications (e.g., web and database back-ends, training applications, Internal Resource Information System [IRIS], etc.), and works closely with GBS end users (i.e., agents, supervisors, and managers) to operate web-based applications that manage and store information on package shippers, package recipients, and UPS Stores' shipping operations. This position also works with support groups (e.g., Data Center staff, New Jersey Information Systems [NJIS], etc.) and serves as a point-of-contact for applications built by the department's programmers. He/She manages Programmers, Database Administratrators, and Business Analysts.
