Mission

Lead the quality assurance efforts to deliver outstanding software products, improve testing processes, and ensure robust, high-quality releases. Over the next 6 months, focus on implementing efficient QA strategies, integrating automation, and supporting the development of a high-performance QA team.


Key Outcomes

  1. Product Quality and Reliability

  • Achieve a 90% defect reduction rate in major project releases over the next 6 months.

  • Implement robust QA processes and testing standards to ensure product reliability, meeting all project quality benchmarks and exceeding client expectations.

Team Development and Scaling

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard 2-3 junior QA engineers within the next 6 months.

  • Develop a comprehensive training and mentorship program that enables junior QA engineers to become fully productive within 3 months.

  • Foster a high-performance team culture that values continuous improvement and professional growth.

Automation and Process Optimization

  • Increase automated test coverage to 80% across core applications, reducing manual testing efforts by 60%.

  • Streamline the QA process by integrating CI/CD pipelines, automated regression suites, and efficient bug-tracking tools.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) for QA automation, aiming to improve productivity per engineer by 20% within 6 months.


Responsibilities

  • Review Requirements and Specifications
    Analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and insightful feedback to developers and product managers.

  • Create and Manage Test Plans
    Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases that align with project requirements and ensure thorough testing.

  • Automation Development
    Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools, aiming to increase testing efficiency and coverage.

  • Bug Tracking and Resolution
    Identify, record, and thoroughly document bugs, collaborating with developers to address and resolve issues. Perform thorough regression testing to confirm successful bug fixes.

  • Collaboration with Internal Teams
    Work closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to align on system requirements and enhance product quality.

  • Monitor and Analyze Quality Metrics
    Track and monitor quality assurance metrics, including defect densities, open defect counts, and testing coverage, to continually improve the QA process.

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation
    Stay updated on new testing tools, strategies, and technologies, implementing them to improve QA practices and drive productivity.


Key Competencies

  • Technical QA Expertise
    In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, with practical experience in white-box and black-box testing. Proficient in automation tools and frameworks, as well as SQL and scripting.

  • Process Improvement and Innovation
    Proven track record in implementing QA strategies that enhance testing efficiency and defect prevention. Experience with CI/CD integration, automated testing, and tools for streamlined QA workflows.

  • Mentorship and Team Development
    Demonstrated ability to identify and mentor junior QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

  • Communication and Collaboration
    Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.

    Strong troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex issues



Requirements

  • Education
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years in QA engineering with a proven record of improving product quality.

    • Practical experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

    • Demonstrated ability in leading or mentoring junior team members.

  • Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools, including Selenium and Appium.

    • Strong SQL and scripting skills.

    • Familiarity with CI/CD and testing tools.

    • Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus.
