Construction Scheduler JobDescription:

  • CreatingSchedules: Construction schedulers develop and manage projectschedules. They define project tasks estimate necessary resourcesand create timelines.
  • Baseline Creation: Theyestablish the initial project baseline which serves as a referencepoint for tracking progress.
  • Monthly Updates:Construction schedulers perform monthly updates to the CriticalPath Method (CPM) schedule. This involves adjusting timelinesresource allocations and identifying any deviations from thebaseline.
  • Narrative Reporting: They providenarrative reports that explain schedule changes delays and otherrelevant information.
  • LookAhead Schedules:Construction schedulers assist in developing lookahead schedules.These shortterm plans help coordinate construction operations andensure smooth execution.
  • Staffing Projection:They project staffing needs ensuring adequate personnel and accessto tools and materials.
  • Collaboration:Construction schedulers work closely with project supervisorsmanagers engineers and site staff to compile data on project costsand time status.
  • Internal Control Safeguards:Construction schedulers establish and maintain internal controlsafeguards to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience developing CPMschedules preferably in heavy civil projects (water/wastewatertreatment experience is a plus).
  • SoftwareSkills: Proficiency in project management software (such asPrimavera P6) and tools.
  • ConstructionKnowledge: Strong understanding of construction practicestechniques and building codes.
  • Communicationand Leadership: Excellent communication skills and the ability toeffectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Adaptability: Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt tochanging project requirements.
