The Client Architect is a seasoned professional who is responsible for specifying and designing solutions utilizing their technical expertise across one or more technology domains, based on client requirements and client environments. The individual in this position takes responsibility for the successful overall technical design and build of the custom elements of the solution to meet a client’s business requirements. The Client Architect is responsible for designing, and may be required to implement cloud-based solutions that meet client’s business and technical requirements. This position shall also supports sales teams by providing expertise in cloud computing technologies and architectures ensuring the effective design, deployment and operation of our cloud-based systems to meet client needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Viewed as a trusted technical advisor to the client and ensure technical solutions will accomplish the client's objectives Design and architect cloud-based systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability. Provide pre-sales technical support and expertise in analysing client requirements, in conjunction with the client’s current collaboration capabilities. Assess existing systems and develop migration strategies to transition on-premises applications and infrastructure to the cloud. Design integration solutions to enable seamless data flow between cloud and on-premises environments. Define and enforce security best practices and compliance standards for cloud-based systems. Develop and maintain cloud governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. Provide guidance and support to development teams to ensure adherence to cloud architecture standards and best practices. Develop or produce the technical design document to match the solution design specifications. Working with the relevant internal stakeholders, participate or lead in scope of work determination, product pricing and RFP/RFI responses. Assist with the determination of outsourcing, product pricing and collaborates with others to develop an implementation solution. Responsible for influencing and guiding members of the Sales team and to ensure that they are equipped to close deals and maintain visibility of forecasting and sales pipeline in order to influence potential deals. Manage client proof of concept (POC) initiatives, which will require the involvement of the appropriate resources, and setup and delivery of the POC. On all assigned engagements, owns the proposed solution and transitions the build / implementation to the delivery team. Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud technologies and architectures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and project managers, to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives. Specifically relating to opportunity pursuit the Cloud Technical Architect will:Evaluate each opportunity for alignment with NTT capabilities and business policyPrepare the executive summary that outlines all of the information gathered from the client in regards to their needs, as understoodDocument the proposed technology solutionDocument the statement of work along with all labour requirementsWork with the relevant internal stakeholders to prepare the pricing format that will be supplied to the customer.Perform the actual solution design and prepare a parts list outlining equipment to be provided.Develop and manage a proof-of-concept as such may be requiredEngage all technical resources required for an accurate solution designPrepare a network diagram outlining the proposed solutionDocument all deliverables and what constitutes a successful completion.Review the final parts list as supplied and submit all information to the applicable bid team for final assemblyVerify the proposal’s accuracy and sign off on the final documents to be presented to the clientAssist during the final presentation to the client as appropriate Select and apply appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with the agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensure that these are effectively applied and adopted. Guide successful implementation and execution of system solutions. Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small-scale changes and assists with more complex change initiatives. Provides pre-sales technical support and expertise in analysing client requirements, in conjunction with the client’s current infrastructure, architecture, system capabilities and business challenges. Ensure technical solutions accomplish the client’s objectives. Work with Solutions Architects (SAs) to produce a technical specification for the solution’s custom development and systems integration requirements.

In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with IaC tools and frameworks such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, or Google Cloud Deployment Manager Understanding cloud design patterns, microservices, serverless computing, containers, and hybrid cloud deployments Deep knowledge such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or other providers, understanding the specific services offered by each platform, including compute, storage, databases, networking, and security Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, load balancing, and firewall configurations. Knowledge of VPNs, VPC peering, and hybrid connectivity options between on-premises and cloud environments. Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), encryption, data protection, secure network configurations, and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS. Proficiency in cloud storage solutions such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage. Understanding of different database options including relational databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB). Knowledge of cloud monitoring and management tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Google Cloud Monitoring. Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). Knowledge of integration technologies such as API gateways, messaging queues, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes Demonstrate broad product knowledge integrated with strong technology understanding Good understanding of the vendor’s products, business and technology positioning Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to establish and create excellent client relationships with their technical expertise Ability to develop and leverage their knowledge of reference architectures Ability to maintain knowledge of trends and development in technology domains Knowledgeable in core frameworks used Strong knowledge of the problem domain that their systems are to provide solutions for Basic understanding of key vendor subscription models such as Cisco EA 3.0

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Graduation/Masters in Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems Certification and working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, SOA, ITIL, COBIT, etc.) Relevant vendor and industry certifications, e.g. Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect SAFe Scaled Agile certification advantageous

Required Experience:

Seasoned track record as a developer and architect of new systems/solutions Seasoned work experience working as a systems administrator or network engineer Seasoned client engagement and development consulting experience Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints Seasoned experience in a variety of architectures for specific domain or specialization Project management experience Experience presenting technical solutions to non-technical audiences Experience working in an agile development environment Seasoned professional technical experience within a large scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment Seasoned experience as a Cloud Technical Architect or a similar role, designing and implementing cloud architectures for complex systems and applications. Seasoned experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions, preferably using leading cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Seasoned experience in a professional technical role Experience in project management methodologies Experience with major cloud platforms Experience with serverless computing platforms like AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions Experience with automation and orchestration tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to streamline the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources
